Baldwin's Schuette Road Repairs To Begin Next Week

A section of the road has been closed since June 22 after two retaining walls collapsed.

BALDWIN, PA - Repairs to two retaining walls that collapsed last month on Schuette Road will begin next week and Allegheny County expects to have the road open again by July 31.

Storm damage to the walls has resulted in Schuette being closed since June 22 from Streets Run Road to Willett Road. The walls are located approximately 500 feet east of the intersection of Schuette Road and Brentwood Road.

Residents who live on Schuette between Streets Run Road and Brentwood Road will be given access to their homes from Streets Run Road. There are no homes or businesses on the portion of road between the two walls.

For all other travelers, the existing detour remains in place. Traffic can travel south along Streets Run Road to Prospect Road, northwest along Prospect Road to the intersection with Brownsville Road, north along Brownsville Road to Churchview Avenue, and then east along Churchview Avenue to the intersection with Schuette Road. Traffic heading in the opposite direction would follow the same detour in reverse.
