BWSD's Moments Of Gratitude

While we can be mindful of the elevated stress this year has brought, members of our community also go out of their way to notice the ways others brighten our days. Here are a few moments of gratitude from our Superintendent

• Dr. Lutz expressed the District's appreciation of a variety of employee groups who continue to go above and beyond in managing both the District's regular daily routine activities, but also for their extensive additional work in proactively supporting our schools and students through these extenuating circumstances, with emphasis today on the Facilities Department, the Teaching Faculty and each of the District's School Principals.
• Dr. Lutz shared an adorable note titled Pizza Crunchers shared with him by a parent of an elementary-age Harrison student expressing panic that he was marked as a packed lunch and learned that there were pizza crunchers on the menu for lunch. He texted his mother for emergency instructions to make it possible to change his lunch for the day – PLEASE HELP!! In this age of rules and restrictions, struggles and sacrifices, it made our day to read this sweet story expressing joy and excitement, reminding us how much things like the lunch menu actually do matter and contribute to a better day.
• Dr. Lutz shared a note from Mr. Frankovich who wished to extend his gratitude and commendations to his son's teacher - Mrs. McNally – who recently offered support to anyone needing help with Canvas – and how effective and thorough her personal guidance has been in working with our learning management system.
