Cat Found In Baldwin Tests Positive For Rabies

BALDWIN, PA - A feral cat brought to a state lab has tested positive for rabies, the Allegheny County Health Department announced. The cat was discovered near the intersection of Campbell Drive and Fidelity Drive in Baldwin Borough.

The feline was the 23rd rabid animal reported in Allegheny County thus far in 2019: 16 raccoons, five bats and two cats.

Residents are reminded to always avoid contact with stray and wild animals to avoid potential rabies exposure and to make suretheir pets are up-to-date on rabies vaccinations. Rabies can be fatal if left untreated.
