There is no charge to any athlete to participate in Special
Olympics. This race will help in being able to provide this feature to our
athletes and continue the Special Olympics mission, which is to to provide
year-round sports training and competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports
for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing
opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy,
and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their
families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community. Awards to the top M/F in the 5k, plus the top
M/F in each age group. Awards to top 3
