WHITEHALL, PA — Hours after police put out an alert that he was missing, Whitehall resident Salvatore Valenti was found in eastern Pennsylvania.

Valenti, 77, left a New Jersey location around 8 a.m. on Tuesday and he was expected to arrive around 4 p.m. Police began investigating when Valenti, who suffers from several medical conditions and speaks limited English, failed to return home Tuesday or contact family members.

Whitehall police announced Wednesday afternoon that Valenti has been located. While providing no further details, a post on the department's Facebook page thanked "the watchful motorists in eastern Pennsylvania who assisted with locating him."
