Pittsburgh MarathonΒ organizers are launching the EQT Pittsburgh 10 Miler, scheduled for Nov. 3.
Starting in the South Side, the course is similar to the Pittsburgh half-marathon route in reverseβminus approximatelyΒ three milesβand finishes on Liberty Avenue, according to theΒ PittsburghΒ Tribune-Review.

Pittsburgh Marathon Executive Director Patrice Matamoros said that the 10-miler will work well with Pittsburgh's Great Race this September. Then, runners can take a break for the holidays beforeΒ picking theirΒ training back up for the marathon or half-marathon.
Organizers hopeΒ that the 10-mile race will attract runners from outside of Pittsburgh, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. They hope to have 3,000 runners participate this year.
Registration is open atΒ pittsburgh10miler.org. Registration fees start at $40 perΒ person.
