Sugar And Spice Ice Cream Boat Destroyed
The on-the-water offshoot of the popular Baldwin ice cream shop

BALDWIN, PA - The floating offshoot of a popular Baldwin ice cream parlor was destroyed over the weekend by fast-moving river currents along. The Sugar and Spice Ice Cream Boat, christened after the Clairton Boulevard ice cream shop, was rammed into the docks at the South Side Marina and pulverized into ruin.
The ice cream boat was in its first full season after debuting last summer. Kevin Heenan, who owned the boat and an ice cream truck with his wife, Lori, labeled the craft “a victim of the Monongahela River,” on Instagram.
“The city of Pittsburgh and the Sports and Exhibition Authority can be happy,” he stated. “They never supported the boat business. I put an insane amount of time and labor into building this business and the rivers took it away in seconds.”
The Baldwin ice cream shop is owned by another member of the Heenan family.
