$1.8M 'Safe' Grant Going To Bensalem Schools
State Rep. Kathleen "KC" Tomlinson said the funding is from the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act grant.
BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —The Bensalem Township School District is getting $1.8 million from a state grant, officials announced.
State Rep. Kathleen "KC" Tomlinson said that she and State Sen. Frank Farry were successful in securing the funds for Bensalem Township that were announced Friday.
The Pennsylvania Department of Education said that 36 school districts will share $39 million in the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act grant funding.

"It's a big win for Bensalem students," Tomlinson said.
The grant will go toward ensuring that students are safe when they are in school by creating a safe and healthy learning environment.

The federal Bipartisan Safer Communities Act of 2022 provides funding to establish safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments in public elementary and secondary schools. PDE administers the program.
Eligible uses for the funding include promoting the social, emotional, physical, and mental well-being of students and staff, addressing family and community engagement, and promoting equitable and inclusive practices.
