On Oct. 16, Bensalem Police had conducted a traffic stop on a 2015 Toyota Highlander driving by Gonzalez for an equipment violation. During the stop, police say that officers noticed signs associated with drug trafficking and a canine unit was called to the scene.

The dogs alerted officers to the possibility of drugs while sniffing the Highlander's exterior and a search was conducted, they say. Officers found a kilogram of heroin and Gonzalez was arrested. His bail set at $200,000.
