Bensalem Man Awaiting Hit-And-Run Trial Charged In Drug Bust

A 21-year-old Bensalem man has been charged after a July 6 drug seizure. He already awaits trial in a fatal hit-and-run in Bristol Township.

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —A 21-year-old township resident —already awaiting trail in a fatal hit-and-run —has been charged after police seized a stash of drugs, money, and high-end watches on Thursday.

Kevin Michael Baker Jr., 21, of Sandy Lane faces charges after the Bensalem Township Police Special Investigations Unit seized 15 lbs. of marijuana, more than 200 THC vape cartridges, numerous edibles, and more than $120,000 in cash.

Baker is also awaiting trial on charges he hit and killed a man with his vehicle in Bristol Township’s Croydon section on Christmas Eve 2021.

Bensalem Township Police said they conducted a series of controlled illegal narcotics purchases from Baker Jr. before obtaining search warrants at his home and at an apartment in Hamilton Court Apartments on 3455 Street Rd.

Both search warrants were executed at 10:50 a.m. Thursday, police said.

Baker Jr. was taken into custody at his residence and items were seized, including cash, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, dab oils, and high-end watches.

The search at Hamilton Court Apartments yielded a money counter, drug paraphernalia, edible “gummys,” THC cartridges, and a large amount of marijuana, police said.

Baker Jr. was charged with manufacturing, delivery or possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled or counterfeit substance, possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, and criminal use of a communication facility.

He was arraigned by District Justice Joseph Falcone and remanded to Bucks County Correctional Facility in lieu of 10 percent of $7 million bail.

On Christmas Eve 2021, Bristol Township Police were dispatched to State Road and Fourth Avenue just after 5 p.m. to investigate the crash and found a severely injured John Dugan. Police were told that the vehicle, a red Chevy Silverado with black wheels, left the scene without stopping to render aid or make the required notifications. Dugan, 65, was taken to Jefferson-Torresdale Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
