16 Charged With Retail Theft In Bensalem

Retail theft has risen 35 percent in the past two years in Bensalem Township, police said. Police now issue a weekly report.

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —Sixteen people are on the Bensalem Township Police Department's new report this week for retail theft charges.

With retail theft rising 35 percent over the past two years, Bensalem Police are working with township businesses to crack down on the crimes. A recent summit was held to educate businesses and to provide tips on how to report crimes.

Bensalem Police, in partnership with the Bensalem Township Economic Development Corporation and local business owners, has launched Bensalem Secure.

Bensalem Secure is a multifaceted approach to reducing retail theft in the township and beyond.

Each week, Bensalem Police will post a list of people arrested for retail theft and related charges in the township.

Bensalem Township Police said they have zero tolerance for retail thefts and will arrest anyone who is detained or identified as committing these types of crimes.
