2 Philadelphia Officers Join Bensalem Police Department Ranks
Both officers come from the 15th District of the Philadelphia Police Department. They were sworn in Friday in Bensalem Township.

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —Two former Philadelphia police officers have joined the ranks of the Bensalem Township Police Department.
Bensalem Township Police Officers William Beck and Christian Martinka took the oath during a swearing-in ceremony Friday, Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo and Police Director William McVey announced.
Beck spent nearly nine years in the Philadelphia Police Department with his most recent assignment in the 15th District. He was also a member of the tactical unit.

Beck was honorably discharged from the PA Army National Guard, where he served from 2010-2018.
Martinka spent nearly four years with the Philadelphia Police Department and was also assigned to the 15th District.

Martinka comes from a family of police officers, including his father Thomas Sr., who retired from the Philadelphia Police Department after 35 years of service.
His older brother, Thomas Jr., has served with the Bensalem Township Police Department since September 2019.
The mayor and McVey thanked members of the civilian hiring board and members of Bensalem Township Council for their attendance at the ceremony.
"Please help us welcome these new officers and wish them a long, safe, and successful career with the Bensalem Township Police Department," both said in a statement.
