2 Weekend Fires Under Investigation In Bensalem

Bensalem fire crews responded to fires on Sunday and Monday. Find out where below.

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —The Bensalem Township Fire Marshal is investigating two fires over the three-day Memorial Day holiday weekend.

At 10:41 a.m. Monday, the Nottingham Fire Department's Ladder 65 responded to State Road in the area of Ash Avenue for a reported apartment fire.

All of the township's fire companies that were due were driving along the Memorial Day parade route on Bristol Pike and responded quickly.

Ladder 65 arrived first and reported a three-story apartment building with smoke showing.

Fire crews found a mattress fire in a second-floor apartment. All searches were negative.

The Bensalem Fire Marshal is handling the cause and origin of the fire.

On Sunday, at 2:13 p.m., Ladder 65 was dispatched with the Cornwells Fire Company- Station 16 for a reported house fire on Findlay Avenue.

Fire crews found fire on the home's exterior extending into the attic on the second floor.

Crews were able to extinguish the fire on the second floor after pulling ceilings to locate the fire.

The Bensalem Fire Marshal is investigating the incident.

No residents were home at the time of the fire, officials said.

On location were Eddington Fire Company - Station 28 Union Fire Company - Station 37 Newport Fire Company Bensalem EMS and Croydon Fire Company.
