3 Injured In PA Turnpike Crash In Lower Bucks Co.
Bensalem Township Fire Rescue revealed details about the crash that closed the westbound lanes for several hours on Tuesday.
BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —Three people were injured in a multi-tractor-trailer crash that closed the westbound lanes of the Pennsylvania Turnpike on Tuesday morning, authorities said.
Bensalem Township Fire Rescue said fire crews responded at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday to the turnpike's westbound lanes, just east of the Bensalem Interchange, for a report of a traffic accident with fire.
Before crews arrived, the PA Turnpike Commission stated that one person was trapped inside one of the tractor-trailers.

Battalion Chief 222, Engine 222, Special Service 222, Engine 65, Rescue 2, and Assistant 68 were among the responding crews.
Fire officials said the crash involved two tractor-trailers, a box truck, and a passenger vehicle.

Crews found no fire but instead a large fuel leak.
One person was also "heavily entrapped" in a tractor-trailer and a large fuel leak. The person was extricated and transported by EMS to a local hospital.
The extent of the injuries of the three people were unknown at this time.
The westbound PA Turnpike remained closed for several hours as Pennsylvania State Police investigated the cause of the accident and crews worked on removing the wreckage.
