4 New Police Officers Join Ranks In Bensalem

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —Four new officers have joined the ranks of the Bensalem Township Police Department.

Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo administered the Oath of Honor to the four new police officers in front of a crowd of family members, friends, police officers, and the command staff on Tuesday.

Police Officers Richard Adams, Samantha Worthington, Walter Wyatt, and Vicenzo Primavera are now part of the Bensalem Township Police Department family.

Officer Richard Adams graduated from Kutztown University, served in the U.S. Air Force for four years, and received an honorable discharge. He is currently in the Air Force Reserves, where he was employed as a sheet metal technician before leaving to join Bensalem. Adams graduated from the Temple University Police Academy on Oct. 11.

Officer Samantha Worthington graduated from Millersville University in 2020 and worked as an intern at the Bensalem Township Police Department while attending college. She was hired as a Community Service Officer for Bensalem Police in 2020, but she has continued to strive to become a police officer. She graduated from the Temple University Police Academy on Oct. 11.

Officer Walter Wyatt attended Temple University and graduated from the Philadelphia Police Academy in 2017. He has been a Philadelphia Police Officer in the 35th District for seven years. During his time in Philadelphia, Wyatt received numerous commendations, including Officer of the Month in July 2018.

Officer Vincenzo Primavera graduated from Temple University and received his Health/Physical Education Certificate at Eastern University. He was a Physical Education Teacher for Council Rock North High School for two years before attending the Philadelphia Police Academy and becoming a Philadelphia Police Officer in June.

"The Bensalem Township Police Department is proud to have these experienced officers join our ranks. We are also thankful to our officers and civilian members of our hiring board," officials said. "Their hard work and dedication to finding the best candidates have led our officers to meet the high standards and professionalism our community expects and deserves. We wish these officers a safe, long, and meaningful career in the Bensalem Township Police Department."
