$4M Grant Secured For Route 1 Improvements Project
U.S. Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick said the funds will assist in revitalizing the key corridor in Lower Bucks County.

LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA —The Route 1 Improvements Project is getting a $4 million grant to assist in revitalizing and redeveloping the corridor that stretches from the Neshaminy Creek in Bensalem Township to the Philadelphia border.
U.S. Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-1) secured the Community Project Funding (CPF) grant as part of a program he introduced that allows Congress members to target federal funds towards projects and programs within their congressional districts that will address the most significant needs facing the communities they represent.
“The Route 1 Improvement Project, designed to streamline the large volume of traffic traversing the Lower Bucks County Corridor, will be an asset to the Bensalem Area. Thank you, Congressman Fitzpatrick, for securing this much-needed infrastructure funding and keeping Bucks Countians safe,” Bensalem Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo said.

Fitzpatrick said the Route 1 project marks "a significant step forward" in the fight to combat the trending decline in the area by leveraging strong public-private partnerships to drive targeted redevelopment.
The $4 million investment will provide for critical infrastructure upgrades, transportation improvements, and the revitalization of properties through site preparation, new construction, and the adaptive reuse of existing buildings, Fitzpatrick said.
