Accused Bensalem Bank Robber Caught In Philly

Michael Edmondson is accused of robbing a Bensalem bank, as well as banks in Upper Merion, Havertown, and Philadlephia, police said.

BENSALEM, PA — A man who had been sought by the FBI for bank robberies, including one in Bensalem, has been captured, according to Philadelphia Police.

Michael Edmondson, 50, was wanted for two bank robberies last month, according to the FBI, and was under investigation for at least one other. He was arrested on robbery, theft, and simple assault charges in Philadelphia on March 6, according to court records.

On Feb. 19, Bensalem Police say a man walked into the Wells Fargo Bank on Horizon Boulevard at 1:20 p.m. He presented a note demanding money and threatening to shoot employees, they say.

The teller gave the man an undisclosed amount of cash and he left the bank, running toward Rockhill Drive.

Edmondson is being held on 10 percent of $200,000 bail in Philadelphia and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on March 26.
