BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA — Police are commending a student and staffer who took quick action to find another student with a suspected firearm.
Bensalem Police said on Friday Shafer Middle School were made aware by a student that a male student was carrying a firearm in his waistband.
The student spotted the firearm when he lifted up his shirt, police said.
The School Resource Officer and additional police personnel were immediately notified and responded. T
The student was located by a school administrator, who was able to safely remove the weapon, which was determined to be a BB gun.
Police found that there was also a second student who also brought a BB gun to school.
The Shafer school administration will be handling internal discipline for both students.
Police are investigating the incident.
No information will be released regarding the identity of the students.
