BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA — Bensalem Township fire crews responded on Thursday afternoon to a fire alarm at one of the laboratories in the township's Trevose area.
Fire companies were dispatched on Thursday afternoon to a building on Somerton Road for a reported chemical spill with a smoke condition.
After receiving updated information from on-scene personnel at the Veolia Pilot Plant, fire officials upgraded the incident to a HazMat response.
Fire crews quickly worked to identify, contain, and neutralize the hazard within the laboratory.
It was not reported what the Hazmat incident was by authorities.
"Thanks to the coordinated efforts of all responding agencies, the incident was safely brought under control with no further threat to the surrounding area," fire officials said.
