Pultro and several police officers were recognized at Tuesday night's Bensalem Township Council meeting for multiple incidents involving their life-saving actions.

After arriving to the scene, Pultro found a victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper left arm.

He applied a tourniquet, successfully stopping the bleeding and allowing Bensalem Medics to transport the victim to the hospital.

His immediate actions directly contributed to the victim's full recovery.

Meanwhile, police officers Clifford Snyder and Richard Adams were recognized for an incident on March 25.

The two were on patrol in the area of Byberry Road and Galloway Road when Adams saw a vehicle parked on the sidewalk with its sole occupant, unresponsive inside.

Officers began CPR while waiting for medics to arrive on scene.

Medics eventually transported the patient to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital where continued life saving measures resulted in the patient’s full recovery.

Corp. Steven Ambs and police officers Michael Sheehy, Christopher Pennington, and Brett Beaumont were also recognized for their life-saving efforts on May 2.

The officers responded to a report of a 57-year-old man in cardiac arrest.

The officers performed CPR and used their department-issued automated external defibrillator, administering two shocks that restored his pulse prior to be transported to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital where continued life saving measures resulted in the patient’s full recovery.

Meanwhile, Detective Sgt. Glenn Vandegrift was recognized by Chief of Chester County Detectives David Sassa for his assistance in implementing their DNA program.

During the presentation, Sassa thanked Vandegrift and the Bensalem Township Police Department for them being at the forefront of using DNA technology to solve not only major crimes, but crimes of all types.
