8 Charged In Bensalem Township Crime Spree

Bensalem Police said the eight juveniles from Philadelphia hit a coffee shop, a shopping center, and neighborhoods.

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA — Eight Philadelphia juveniles have been charged with their involvement in a crime spree in the township.

Bensalem Police responded at 3:19 a.m. on Wednesday to a burglary at the Starbucks at 3619 Horizon Blvd. Police said the drive-thru window had been smashed, and that cash registers had been disturbed.

Police detained three male juveniles in the Walmart parking lot on Horizon Boulevard and recovered merchandise taken from Starbucks. With help from Upper Southampton Police, they detained five more male juveniles who had been observed running from the area.

Police said all eight juveniles were involved in the Starbucks burglary, as well as multiple confirmed theft from a vehicles in a nearby neighborhood.

They are also suspected of being involved in additional attempted thefts in and around the Neshaminy Square Shopping Center and nearby residential developments.

All eight juveniles are from Philadelphia and will be charged with Burglary, Criminal Trespass, Criminal Mischief, Theft by Unlawful Taking, Theft from a Motor Vehicle, Receiving Stolen Property, Criminal Conspiracy, and Loitering and Prowling at Night.

They were identified and released to their parents or guardians pending further investigation.
