BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA — The Neshaminy Mall may be closing, but one of its anchors is sticking around.
Boscov's issued a statement on Wednesday following the announcement that the Neshaminy Mall would be closing over the next few months.
"While the Neshaminy Mall undergoes big changes, Boscov's Neshaminy is here to stay and ready to serve you," the store said in a Facebook post. "
The Bucks County Redevelopment Authority is planning to help with the makeover of the 108.5 acre-site property located on Route 1 near the PA Turnpike.
Meanwhile, the AMC-24 Movie Theater, Boscov's and Barnes and Noble, will remain.
It's unclear so far what the mall's redevelopment entails, although some shoppers have weighed in.
When the mall opened in 1968, Boscov's was not an original department store anchor.
Boscov's opened its anchor store in the mall in 1995.
And while the Neshaminy Mall, Bucks County's first shopping mecca, lost a chuck of customers when anchor stores closed with Macy's in 2017 and Sears in 2018, Boscov's has stood its ground.
The mall was sold in September 2024 to Paramount Realty.
The Neshaminy Mall was also the site for circuses, ice rinks, and carnivals over the years.
Boscov's — which is headquartered in Reading — has 48 stores located in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, New York, Connecticut, Delaware, Ohio, and Rhode Island.
Of its Pennsylvania stores, Boscov's has locations at the Oxford Valley Mall, the Plymouth Meeting Mall, and the Lehigh Valley Mall.
