Philadelphia Flyers Rallee Program Starts At 2 Bensalem Schools

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA — Two township elementary schools are rolling out the Philadelphia Flyers Rallee program as the season starts for the team on Wednesday night.

School officials said that Valley Elementary School and Samuel K. Faust Elementary School will roll out the program that provides an innovative move-to-learn initiative designed to strengthen the connection between students' physical, social-emotional and academic well-being.

Rallee — developed by Athlon in partnership with the Philadelphia Flyers — uses brief, interactive movement-based activities to help students move, reset, refocus and return to learning ready to engage in learning.

Designed for students in Grades K–8, activities can be incorporated into the school day in sessions of approximately five minutes or less.

"We know that children and our teachers bring their whole selves into our classrooms each day, and learning is about so much more than what happens with a pencil, textbook or technology," Schools Superintendent Victoria Velazquez said. "We are excited to introduce this opportunity at Valley and Faust as another way we are intentionally supporting the whole child and enhancing the daily student experience."

Rallee gives teachers another engaging tool to help students move their bodies, regulate their energy and emotions, reset when they need to, and prepare their brains to return to learning, the superintendent said.

The program's "Boost" and "Balance" experiences are designed to energize the body and brain for learning, strengthen motor skills and perseverance, support self-management, and help students regain focus following challenges.

Teachers can integrate Rallee into morning meetings, classroom transitions, brain breaks, PBIS and MTSS supports, or other moments throughout the school day when movement and regulation can help students prepare for learning.

The Philadelphia Flyers partnership brings an additional element of excitement to the experience through Flyers themed activities, avatars, rewards and opportunities that make movement and wellness engaging for students.

Participating schools may also have opportunities for Flyers related experiences, healthy challenges, PBIS rewards and other school-based activities.

Importantly, the program is fully funded for participating schools through Rallee's sponsor program and is free to participating families.

The rollout also includes training and ongoing support for school leaders, teachers and students.
