BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA — The owners of the Neshaminy Mall have revealed some proposed details about the property's redevelopment.
With the Neshaminy Mall expected to close at the end of the month, Paramount Realty has circulated a sketch plan that details demolishing the core of the 1.1 million-square-foot mall off the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
The owners would replace it with "open air main street" mixed-use development, according to the sketch plan below.
While the mall would be demolished, the AMC-24 Movie Theater, Boscov's and Barnes and Noble, will remain.
According to the sketch plan proposal drafted for property owners Paramount Realty and Edgewood Properties, plans call for retaining 237,500 square feet of existing retail space and adding another 543,600 square feet.
The development summary includes plans for three multi-family buildings with nearly 250 apartment units and a four-story hotel.
The Bucks County Redevelopment Authority is helping in the makeover of the 108.5 acre-site property located on Route 1 near the PA Turnpike.
The mall was sold in September 2024 to Paramount Realty.
The one-time shopping mecca lost a chuck of customers when anchor stores closed with Macy's in 2017 and Sears in 2018.
The Neshaminy Mall was also the site for circuses, ice rinks, and carnivals over the years.
