BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA — Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo had several announcements to make before festivities kicked off Saturday at the annual fall family festival.
Speaking on the stage with dignitaries around him, the longtime mayor announced several grants the township has received recently.
One came in the form of a check that State Sen. Frank Farry presented to the mayor.
Bensalem is getting $1 million from the state to rip out and replace the solar panels and roof on the township's municipal building.
With the November general election nearing, the mayor was joined on stage by Farry, U.S. Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick, and State Rep. Kathleen "KC" Tomlinson —all who are seeking re-election.
The annual event featured the township's law enforcement, fire, and EMS vehicles, booths, food trucks, a bounce house, a concert, and fireworks.
