BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA — Military veterans made the special journey to Washington, D.C., as part of the Bucks County Tour of Honor on Monday.
The annual all-expenses-paid trip honors men and women who served the nation.
Military veterans visited Arlington National Cemetery, the World War II Memorial, the Korean War Memorial, and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall.
The veterans returned for a special "Welcome Home" celebration at Parx Casino.
Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo and Bensalem Township Council members were on hand for the heroes welcome.
"The Tour of Honor is such a meaningful way to recognize and thank our veterans for their service and sacrifice," said Council President Ed Tokmajian, who was also joined by Councilman Joseph Wenzel.
The Feasterville Fire Company Ladder 1 assisted the Bensalem Volunteer Fire Department with the Bucks County Tour of Honor by performing a Ladder Cross with Falls Township Fire Company Ladder 30 by the intersection of Street and Knights roads.
"It was great welcoming our Heroes to Bensalem to honor them for their service and honor those who sacrificed it all," fire officials said.
