BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA — Bensalem Police are seeking a man who provided fraudulent paperwork for a Winchester .308 rifle at Walmart on Friday.
Bensalem Police responded at 2:31 p.m. on Friday to the Walmart at 3461 Horizon Boulevard for the report of a retail theft.
Police seek a black man who was wearing a black jacket and dark blue jeans and carrying a collapsible scooter.
When he entered the store, police said he put on a yellow vest and selected a rifle bag offered for sale. He then approached an employee in the sporting goods department and presented fraudulent paperwork providing "clearance" for a Winchester .308 rifle.
Surveillance footage shows that the man entered a restricted employee only area, where he placed the rifle inside the bag, and then left through the garden area.
He was spotted on surveillance footage in the Neshaminy Mall parking lot heading toward the SEPTA bus stop.
Anyone with information or who can identify the suspect should contact Bensalem Police Detective Tom Jackson at 215-633-2667.
