BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA — While officials and residents are pursuing a Trader Joe's, a Sprouts Farmers Market is coming to the township.
It will be the chain's first location in Bucks County.
Bensalem Township Council President Ed Tokmajian told Patch on Wednesday that a Sprouts will be sprouting up next year on Street Road.
Trader Joe's is a store that residents have wanted for a while, along with a Wegmans supermarket.
The township is in need of another grocery chain after a much-touted Amazon Fresh folded pretty quickly after opening.
Sprouts Farmers Market is planned for 4600 Street Road, where the Trevose Corporate Center offices are now.
The Township Council approved the project a year ago.
Sprouts plans to build its store sometime next spring, he said.
Sprouts bills itself as a healthy, organic grocer.
Sprouts has two locations in Montgomery County: In the Promenade in Upper Dublin Township and on Horsham Road in Lansdale.
There are also three locations in Philadelphia.
