The Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program is a warm-water exercise program shown to reduce pain and
improve overall health. “It is suitable for every fitness level and the classes are being held in a friendly and supportive environment that encourages social interaction and camaraderie among participants,” explains Aistrop, Director of the Wellness Center. “The program has been designed to help reduce pain, decrease feelings of isolation, help gain strength and flexibility and improve overall day-to-day life.”
According to Einstein Healthcare Network Physical Therapists Donna Valente and Mary Sullivan,
program facilitators, “This program has been specifically and meticulously tailored to reduce the symptoms associated with Arthritis in a relaxing, fun and flexible way. We feel certain that all of the participants will enjoy some great benefits from our aquatic program.”
The classes are ongoing on Mondays at 10 a.m. and Wednesdays at noon. “That way people can join at any time and become a part of the program,” she notes. Cost for the Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program is
$3 per class for JCC members and $4 per class for non-members. For additional details, contact Sue Aistrop 215-698-7300, extension 110 or email saistrop@kleinjj.org.

Weight Watchers of Philadelphia, Inc. “The addition of the Arthritis Foundation Aquatics Program is another key step in our attempt to keep our senior and maturing active adults healthy so they can continue to live independently for as long as possible,” relates Aistrop.
The Wellness Center is staffed by Harvey Spector, DO, a primary care physician board-certified in osteopathic medicine with 45 years of experience.
