Bensalem School Board Member Honored For Service
Heather D. Nicholas has served as the school board's president and vice-president, as well as serving on numerous education committees.

BENSALEM, PA — The vice-president of the Bensalem Township school board is being honored for her years of service to local schools.
Heather D. Nicholas was recognized by the Pennsylvania School Boards Association for her 12 years of service to the district. The association is honoring school directors across the state who have served between 8-36 years.
She was presented with a certificate adding her to the group's Honor Roll of School Board Service.

"Mrs. Nicholas has been a tireless advocate for the children of Bensalem," said district Superintendent Samuel Lee.
"Her 12 years of service on the Bensalem Township School Board has seen the introduction of full day kindergarten, a massive renovation of our high school combined with expansion of program options including district wide STEM, a career pathways model, and professional development platforms like our partnership with The Franklin Institute for neurosciences — all of this in the most challenging times for public education."

During her time on the school board, Nicholas has served as both president and vice-president.
She has served as a PSBA representative to the Federal Relations Network and on committees including Charter Schools, Instructional Affairs, Business, Technology, Facilities and Bucks County Technical High School.
She's also served on the Bensalem Education Foundation, assisting in its founding, and the Just For Kids Education Foundation.
"Mrs. Nicholas has been an inspiration to her colleagues, our community, and our students, for the betterment of Bensalem schools ...," said board President Kim J. Rivera. "We truly value her continued support of the district’s mission of educating, engaging and motivating our students."
