Bensalem Student Wins “Voice of Democracy” Essay Contest, Moves To District Competition
Congratulations and good luck in the district competition to Peace Senkungu.

A Bensalem Township School District student recently won the “Voice of Democracy” Essay Contest, according to the district.
Peace Senkungu was named the first-place winner in the 2016 John Billington VFW Post 6495 Voice of Democracy contest with the theme “My Responsibility to America.”
As a first-place winner Peace and her parents will be invited to attend a ceremony at the VFW Post to receive her awards and the $300 first place prize. The time and date of this event has not yet been scheduled.

Peace’s winning entry will be advanced to the District Eight – Bucks & Lehigh Counties – competition where her speech and essay will be judged among the twenty Posts in District Eight, the district said.
According to the district, Students in Mrs. Karen Sibley’s honor’s classes at Bensalem High School wrote essays for the annual “Voice of Democracy” Essay Contest, a premier scholarship program.
