Bensalem Wawa Thief Steals $1,700 In Cigarettes

BENSALEM, PA — Police in Bensalem are on the lookout for a man they say sneaked behind the counter at a Wawa store and made off with $1,771 worth of cigarettes.
The theft happened on Saturday, Aug. 17, at the Wawa at 1549 Bristol Pike.
According to Bensalem Township Police, the man went behind the counter at the convenience store, opened up a cabinet and took out a cardboard box that contained 10 cartons of Newport cigarettes and 10 cartons of Parliament cigarettes.

Each carton contains 10 packs of cigarettes.
Police say the smoke thief then drove away in a dark-colored SUV, possibly a Jeep Cherokee. He is described as a black male, wearing a green or yellow, bright-colored vest over a gray long-sleeve shirt, wearing glasses, a ball cap and dark pants.

On Wednesday, police shared photos and a video showing the theft.
