Child Sex Predator Posed As Door-To-Door Solicitor In Bensalem: DA

A 54-year-old New Jersey man faces up to 10 years in prison after being caught in a child sex sting operation, authorities said.

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA — A 54-year-old New Jersey man was sentenced Tuesday to five to 10 years in state prison for traveling to Bucks County to meet a person he believed was a 13-year-old girl for sex, authorities said.

In an effort not to raise suspicion, Oscar Castillo-Peralta, of Pleasantville, N.J., told the girl that he would dress as a door-to-door religious solicitor, authorities said.

He planned to knock on neighbors' doors first so that no one would wonder why he was in the neighborhood, the Bucks County District Attorney's Office said.

Castillo-Peralta, who was sentenced on Tuesday, was also ordered to undergo sex offender treatment while incarcerated.

He was arrested when he arrived on Feb. 19, 2025, after arriving at a township home expecting to meet the girl, authorities said.

Instead, Bensalem Police were waiting for Castillo-Peralta, who was dressed in a suit and carrying religious materials to avoid raising suspicion.

On Jan. 30, 2025, he began a conversation on a social media app with what he believed to be a 13-year-old girl in which they exchanged phone numbers and text messages for several weeks before the conversation became sexual.

Castillo-Peralta pleaded guilty in April to two counts of unlawful contact with a minor and one count of criminal attempt to disseminate sexually explicit materials to a minor.
