Bensalem Crime Statistics For 2025 Revealed

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA — Crime has fallen in the past year in the township, the head of the police department said.

Public Safety Director William McVey said that crime rates continued to trend downward.

McVey said that Part 1 (serious and violent) crimes are down by over 30 percent from 2024, with robberies and burglaries dropping by about 50 percent each.

The Bensalem Township Police Department cleared 49 percent of Part 1 crime cases, which is a testament to its commitment to public safety.

Meanwhile, retail theft also was down by 24 percent, partly due to the Bensalem Secure program, a program in which the police department works with township businesses to report retail thefts.

McVey and the Command Staff applauded the work of the police department's officers and civilian staff and thanked Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo, the Bensalem Township Council, and the Bensalem community for its support.

"The men and women of the Bensalem Police force do an exceptional job deterring and detecting crime through their proactive efforts," McVey said. "We will continue to build upon these results with enhanced technologies to assist our police officers in their efforts, with the overall goal of keeping our community safe."
