Dedication Honors Late Bensalem High Field Hockey Coach

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —Ruth O’Malley made an impact at Bensalem High School that will last forever as a field hockey coach and teacher.

The Bensalem High School Athletics department decided to pay tribute to O'Malley, who died of COVID-19 in November 2020, with a special dedication.

"In honor of Ruth O’Malley, a mentor, leader, and coach. Her passion and love for her students and fellow peers will forever live on," the department's Facebook post stated.

A ceremony was expected to take place at 6:45 p.m. Thursday at Bensalem Memorial Stadium to dedicate the Bensalem Owls field hockey game against Harry Truman to O'Malley.

O'Malley served as a health and physical education teacher, class advisor and coached field hockey, according to her obituary.
