Delaware County students score a chance to learn soccer from professionals at Talen Energy Stadium

Philadelphia Union coaches teach E. T. Richardson School students skills at soccer clinic sponsored by TruMark Financial® Credit Union

FORT WASHINGTON, Pa. – TruMark Financial sponsored a soccer clinic for 90 students from E. T. Richardson Middle School located in Springfield, Delaware County, on Oct. 13, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at Talen Energy Stadium, Chester, Pa. Students took to the field with Philadelphia Union coaches who offered students training advice while they ran through different activity stations. Philadelphia Union midfielder Wálter Restrepo joined students on the field and demonstrated strategic moves.

TruMark Financial awarded the clinic to the students of E. T. Richardson Middle School in recognition of their outstanding efforts to raise awareness about financial literacy throughout their school. E. T. Richardson Middle School partnered with TruMark Financial in their annual Kiss-A-Pig Financial Literacy Fundraiser for the first time this year, sending their principal, Daniel Tracy, to smooch with a pot-bellied pig named Raines. The school raised more than $1,600 to support Tracy’s fundraising efforts. The fundraiser is a component of the credit union’s personal finance program, titled "Building Financial Futures." TruMark Financial will be providing a grant to the school to help purchase personal finance materials. In addition, TruMark Financial representatives will be visiting the school to conduct presentations on topics such as saving, budgeting, and credit.

Throughout the year, the credit union holds several fundraisers to support local schools’ financial literacy programs. Proceeds of the fundraisers enable schools to purchase resources such as textbooks, computer software, and math manipulatives to enrich their financial literacy initiatives.
