Delays On Turnpike In Bensalem This Weekend

Turnpike commission crews will be working to repair concrete on the turnpike starting Friday night.

BENSALEM, PA — The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is warning that repair work on concrete near the Bensalem interchange are likely to cause delays this weekend.

Lane restrictions will move traffic into a single lane eastbound on I-276 approaching the Bensalem interchange (Exit 351). The restrictions will start at 8 p.m. on Friday and run through 5 a.m. on Monday.

"Pennsylvania State Police and Turnpike personnel will be positioned at the impacted area to assist drivers," the commission said in a news release. "Changeable message signs will also provide information on closures and detours."

Drivers are encouraged to plan their travel with the delays in mind. Repair work schedules could change based on weather conditions this weekend, the commission said.

Anyone who sees an accident or other emergency on the turnpike is asked to dial *11 on their mobile phone. To learn more about conditions on the turnpike, you may follow the nearly 100 signs along the turnpike or tune to highway advisory radio at 1640 AM.

Motorists also may call the turnpike roadway advisory program for information at 866-976-TRIP (8747) or the customer-assistance center at 800-331-3414 on weekdays from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
