Digital Sign Improvements, Route 1 Overpass Work In Bensalem
Motorists should expect period stoppages and lane closure this week as PennDOT performs work on Interstate 95 and Route 1.

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —Digital message sign improvements will take place this week on southbound Route 95 along with work on Old Lincoln Highway at the U.S. 1 overpass, PennDOT said.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- Monday, Aug. 21, through Wednesday, Aug. 23, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, a left lane closure will be in place on southbound I-95 just south of the Route 63 (Woodhaven Road) Interchange in Bensalem Township.
- Wednesday, Aug. 23, and Thursday, Aug. 24, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, a left lane closure will be in place on southbound I-95 just south of the Street Road (Route 132) Interchange in Bensalem Township.
Meanwhile, construction is scheduled this week on Old Lincoln Highway at the U.S. 1 overpass under a project to reconstruct, widen and improve U.S. 1 in Bensalem and Middletown townships, Bucks County.

- Monday, Aug. 21, through Friday, Aug. 25, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., periodic stoppages of up to 15 minutes will take place on southbound Lincoln Highway for beam setting on the new southbound U.S.1 overpass.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
The DMS work is part of a $24.1 million project to upgrade and improve Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) components across the Philadelphia region. The ITS equipment will be used by PennDOT’s Regional Traffic Management Center (RTMC) to monitor travel conditions and provide motorists with real-time information about area highways.
