District Working On Heat Issues At Bensalem Elementary School
Only one classroom at Samuel K. Faust Elementary School remains without heat after an outage during last week's cold spell.

BENSALEM, PA — The Bensalem Township School District is working on repairs after heating systems failed at an elementary school during last week's brutal cold spell.
District Superintendent Samuel Lee said a single classroom is awaiting repairs at Samuel K. Faust Elementary School, at 2901 Bellview Dr.
Last Tuesday, when temperatures in the area dropped down into the single digits, the school experienced a systems failure that wiped out heat in some sections of the school building. The problems were fixed relatively quickly in all but two classrooms, Lee said.

Heat in Classroom 11 has been fixed and Classroom 33 is awaiting a part to repair a broken heater coil, Lee said in a letter to the school community on Tuesday. Students who are normally assigned to that classroom have been relocated while the district awaits the part, he said.
"The HVAC system at Faust including boiler units are in good working order, however, as with any mechanical system, maintenance beyond normal upkeep may be required based on usage and happenstance," Lee wrote in the letter. "When challenges do occur, we make the necessary repairs and take the proper actions to maintain a healthy and safe learning environment for students and staff."
