Dunks Ferry Road In Bensalem Closing Next Month

The closure will be for pipe installation related to the highway repaving going on in the area.

BENSALEM, PA — Dunks Ferry Road in Bensalem is scheduled to be closed in early January for pipe replacement related to highway resurfacing in the area.

The closure, between Mechanicsville Road and Knights Road, will begin Jan. 7. and continue through the end of February. During the closure, motorists will be detoured over Mechanicsville Road, Street Road and Knights Road.

Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone. Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area. The schedule is weather dependent.

State highways completed under this resurfacing project include:

  • Kumry Road between Sleepy Hollow Road and Creamery Road in Milford Township and Trumbauersville Borough
  • Route 563 (Ridge Road) between County Line Road and Park Avenue in West Rockhill Township and Perkasie Borough
  • Route 412 (Durham Road) between Route 611 (Easton Road) and Route 212 in Nockamixon and Springfield townships.

Blooming Glen Contractors, Inc., of Hilltown Township, Bucks County, is the general contractor on the $3,732,792 project, which is financed with 100 percent state funds from Act 89, Pennsylvania’s Transportation Plan.
