Dunks Ferry Road Closed For 2 Months Starting Monday

The Bensalem road closure is for crews to replace a pipe. Drivers will be detoured onto Mechanicsville, Street and Knights roads.

BENSALEM, PA — Dunks Ferry Road in Bensalem was closed on Monday and will remain shut down through the end of February as crews work on replacing a pipe there.

The closure is between Mechanicsville Road and Knights Road. It is part of a project to repair and resurface 15 miles of state highway in Bucks County, according to PennDOT.

During the two-month closure, motorists on Dunks Ferry will be detoured over Mechanicsville Road, Street Road and Knights Road. Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone itself, officials said.

Motorists traveling in the area are advised to allow extra time.

Blooming Glen Contractors, Inc., of Hilltown Township, Bucks County, is the general contractor on the $3,732,792 project, which is financed with 100 percent state funds.
