'Elite' Police Department Receives National Honor In Bensalem
The Bensalem Township Police Department was selected by a police chiefs association as being among the best in the nation.

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —The Bensalem Township Police Department is considered one of the best.
Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo and Public Safety Director William McVey recently went on the Mayor's Show to announce an award they have received for the police department. See the video below.
The police department was selected by the International Association of Chiefs of Police and profiled as one of the elite agencies in our country, which has more than 18,000 departments nationwide.

As part of this recognition, Bensalem Police were showcased in the IACP TV Leadership Film Series at the 2023 International Association of Chiefs of Police Annual Conference in San Diego.
IACP TV provides this platform dedicated to profiling the elite of the law enforcement community and is dedicated to the dissemination of excellence in policing.

The mayor and McVey said they are "proud of the recognition."
They said the recognition "highlights the work the men and women of the department do on a daily basis to keep our community safe and maintain a great partnership with our community."
Both said they are also thankful for all the work the retired officers have done to lay the foundation of policing in Bensalem.
