Expo Aims To Support Addiction-Related 'GrandFamilies'

There will be a question-and-answer session with professionals and refreshments will be served as visitors browse resource tables.

BENSALEM, PA — A free expo planned for early January aims to provide help for "grandfamilies" — situations where grandparents have taken on childcare and other family duties due to addiction.

Sponsored by the Livengrin Foundation, the expo is scheduled for Jan. 9, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Chapman Community Center on Livengin's main campus in Bensalem. It is located at 4833 Hulmeville Rd.

According to the addiction treatment center, there is a growing trend of grandparents or other family members raising children due to addiction issues. The expo will provide information and access to resources for those families.
