Fake Emergency Call Leads To Theft At Bensalem Cracker Barrel
Bensalem Police seek a man and woman who swiped a patron's purse at the eatery last week and charged more than $1,500 in gift cards.
BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —The Bensalem Township Police Department is seeking a man and woman who faked an emergency call to swipe a patron's purse at the Cracker Barrel last week that led to credit card charges for gift cards.
Bensalem Police are investigating a theft at the Cracker Barrel located at 3611 Horizon Blvd. on May 25.
It was reported that around 6 p.m., a black man and a black woman entered the restaurant, and the man placed his jacket over a chair that was directly behind the victim, police said.

The woman accompanying the man acted like she was on an emergency phone call, requiring them to leave the restaurant immediately, police said.
Within a half hour of their departure, the victim received fraud alerts. The victim then found her purse open and credit cards missing, police said.

One transaction was for $1,500 in Visa Gift Cards at CVS Health.
The suspects were operating a blue Chevrolet Malibu bearing NJ paper registration 877785T.
