Firefighter Injured Battling Bensalem Township Building Blaze: Police

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —A firefighter suffered injuries battling a commercial building fire on Bridgewater Road Saturday morning, police and fire officials

The firefighter from the Nottingham Fire Company was being treated for non-life-threatening injuries, the Bensalem Township Police Department said.

He was transported to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

The fire started at 9:17 a.m. Saturday with the Newport Fire Company responding to a water flow alarm at Ebooks Web LLC at 1388 Bridgewater Rd in Bensalem Township.

Upon arrival, firefighters found an active fire and multiple fire companies responded to the two-alarm fire which was later brought under control.

During the blaze, the Nottingham firefighter fell from the roof.

The investigation into the cause and origin of the fire is underway.

The Nottingham Fire Department said that Ladder 65 handled the commercial building fire and found heavy smoke. While performing ladder company functions, a firefighter from Truck 65 fell about 25 feet from a ground ladder.

"We ask for prayers for a speedy recovery," the department posted on Facebook.

The Eddington Fire Company, Lower Southampton Fire Company, the Union Fire Company, the Levittown Fire Company No. 1, Cornwells Fire Company, Feasterville Fire Company and Croydon Fire Company were among those who responded.
