Firefighter Injured In Bensalem Townhome Blaze

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —A firefighter was injured battling a blaze in a township townhome complex on Friday, fire officials said.

The Bensalem Township Fire Rescue Department and multiple fire departments responded at 12:20 p.m. Friday to a townhome fire in the Hidden Valley neighborhood.

Fire crews reported heavy fire coming from a 2-story townhome.

Engine 222 and Engine 88 went in service with two 1.5” waterlines but due to the rapid deterioration of conditions on the interior of the dwelling, fire crews were forced to evacuate as part of the roof and second floor collapsed).

The fire was placed under control at 1:10 pm., officials said.

Investigators with Bensalem Township Fire Rescue determined the fire originated on the first floor and was accidental.

One firefighter suffered minor burns and was transported by Bensalem EMS to a local hospital for treatment.

The fire department thanked the township's public works department for assisting us with a backhoe and excavation efforts.
