BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —Nearly three years ago, Bensalem Township acquired a field and renamed it in honor of its first responders.

Now, that field will finally get its honorary debut.

Township officials will hold the rescheduled First Responders Field Inaugural Game and Dedication with first responders at 6 p.m. Wednesday at 4668 E Bristol Road.

In December 2021, township officials unveiled a sign for First Responders Field, the former site of the Trifecta Sporting Club/German Hungarian Club.

Last March, the long-time project that was undergoing its transformation from the UGH Club received $1 million in state funding toward the park's renovations.

Before that, the Township Council voted to spare the former UGH Club from future residential and commercial development by preserving 15 acres.

Restoration of the park's soccer field, a renovated irrigation system, and a resurfaced parking lot were among the fixes to the park property that were made after the renaming.

The park will primarily serve as a place for local sports teams to practice, as well as for residents to walk and enjoy the outdoors.
