Flyers Star Appears in Mall

Following his autograph session at Pro Image, Danny Briere scored a couple goals in an important win.

All Danny Briere needed to turn around his season was a visit to Bensalem.

The assistant captain brought out dozens of Flyers fans Friday evening as he signed autographs for $30 at the store in the .

Then Saturday night, he scored two goals in helping the team clinch a playoff berth with a 4-1 win over Montreal.

The diminutive Briere, who had 34 goals last season, is having an off year. Saturday's goals were numbers 15 and 16, and fans and teammates are hoping they're a sign of Briere's usual readiness for a clutch playoff performance.

The Flyers are in fifth place in the Eastern Conference and have seven games left in the regular season.

The team has been on top of its game in March, led by goalie Ilya Bryzgalov, who is 10-1-1 this month after a rough first four months of his first season with the team.
