Former Bensalem Youth Football Coach Charged With Child Rape: Police
Breaking: A former Bensalem Ramblers Athletic Association coach has been charged with child rape, police say.
BENSALEM, PA — A former Bensalem Ramblers Athletic Association coach has been charged with sexually assaulting three children, police have confirmed. Shannon "Shawn" Westmoreland, 47, of West Chester is facing charges for sexual assaults that happened as far back as 1999.
One assault occurred in 2005 when Westmoreland was coaching the local team, police said. He is charged with rape, rape of a child under 13, statutory sex assault and related offenses.
Police allege he sexually assaulted a 15-year-old and another child from the age of 4 until she was 9 or 10, as well as another girl from the time when she was 6 until 2011, when she was 18.
