Gas Leak Forces Closure Of Bensalem School
Bensalem Fire Rescue assisted with evacuating students from the School Lane Charter School following a gas leak on Wednesday morning.
BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —An elementary school was closed Wednesday morning after a gas leak was reported, fire officials said.
The Bensalem Township Fire Rescue Department and Bensalem Police assisted School Lane Charter School with safely relocating students to Holy Ghost Prep after a gas leak forced the closure of the elementary school on Wednesday.
Authorities said the well-coordinated effort was "another fine example" of the relationship that the Bensalem Township Department of Public Safety has with schools throughout the township.

In other fire rescue department news:
- While Bucks County's burn ban has expired, all township ordinances and rules/regulations regarding exterior fireplaces and fire pits will still be enforced. Anyone with questions should call Bensalem Township Fire Rescue at 215-633-3617.
- Crews working on Thanksgiving responded to 12 incidents, including five related to cooking. Authorities want to remind residents that cooking is the No. 1 cause of fires, especially during the holiday season.
